I believe that working through difficult times makes us, and our relationships, stronger. Sometimes, however, we need an extra hand to make meaningful change. I know that making the decision to begin therapy isn’t always easy, but sometimes it’s just what you need to get your life back on track.

Despite the stereotype of a therapist being someone who will, “tell you what to do,” my role is to listen and help you toward hearing your own answers. Therapy is a journey you take the lead in. It can offer you insight and perspective so you can achieve what you are striving for in your life.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with nearly 20 years of experience, including managing a program within a large non-profit agency where I mentored new therapists.  During those years I’ve learned there is nothing more powerful than feeling heard and understood. I’ve worked with adults, as well as infants, children and teens. Being a mom myself, I understand how miscommunication can occur, and the importance of the parent-child relationship at any age. I’ve used play therapy, talk therapy and other techniques to address common childhood issues like anger, depression, anxiety, social skills, poor grades, low self-esteem, tantrums, bullying, self injury and difficulty expressing thoughts or feelings in an appropriate manner. More importantly, I work to create resiliency and meaningful change.

Another area of focus is working with couples. I've received certification in Gottman's 7 principles for Making a Marriage Work and received level II clinical training.

Imagine how much better your life would be if you could overcome feelings or sadness and anxiety; communicate better with those in your life; and create meaningful relationships with others. Together, we can explore what is getting in the way of you living a happier life.
